terms & conditions.

GENERAL

Please email leahpaigedesigns@gmail.com to arrange for an initial consultation to determine your scope of work. This is an obligation-free service however may be factored into your quote should you choose to proceed. After this initial consultation, a scope of work and quote will be issued. Please ensure all relevant information including details of the project, budget, and timeline is provided at this initial consultation. Details are key for me to be able to correctly quote you. Commencement of work will not begin until a formal agreement of this quote is received in writing and a signed copy is returned. A schedule of rates of $85 per hour will be adopted for any additional work outside of the scope of work. (if required). Upon confirmation of the project scope and timeline, your quote will be converted into a detailed invoice that requires a 50% deposit to confirm your booking, for projects under $5000. For projects over $5000 a 25% deposit is required with progress payments as major milestones are complete. This fee secures your project however may be used as a cancellation fee should the project discontinue. Please see the cancellation policy for more information. You will then be required to submit all relevant information/content before the commencement of your project. If you have a deadline for your project, please let us know. Your project will only commence once all requested information and content has been received. Delays may occur on your project if we are waiting on information to be submitted.

Prices are subject to change and are only locked in once a deposit has been received. Your deposit confirms your commitment to the project and is a written agreeance to the terms outlined for said project. The balance of your invoice will be payable upon my completion of your project and the monies owed will need to be cleared before handover takes place.

Please consider our design aesthetic and portfolio of work before making a booking inquiry. In some cases, we may decline your proposed project if we are unable to meet your deadline or if we do not feel our design style aligns with you.

Variations will be issued as a schedule of rates. Variations are at the discretion of the designer and will be issued for any substantial changes from the original brief as determined by the designer. The scope of work and initial design will be based on preliminary discussion with the client or contractor on behalf of the client. Contractors communicating on behalf of the client will be responsible for portraying the client’s true wants and needs, style, and direction clearly to the designer. Once the proposal is issued a response is required within 5 working days with any amendments or variations. If there are no amendments or communication within 5 working days, an invoice will be issued marking the completion of works.

Completion of works is not the completion of construction but at the completion of the agreed scope of works. For projects under $5000, a 50% deposit will be required at the beginning of the project for work to commence. Any projects exceeding $5000 will require a 25% deposit and will be issued an additional two 25% progress payments as milestones of the project are completed. However, any delays caused by the clients or changes to the agreed timeline may result in progress payments being issued to maintain cash flow. Any work completed for contractors to win projects is at the risk and discretion of the contractor. Leah Paige Designs will not absorb any risks to complete renders, mood boards and proposals etc. for clients who do not decide to follow through with the project. In the instance of concept designs being presented to clients as potential future work, an additional fee will be issued should the client decide to proceed with the designs. The client will require written approval from the designer to proceed with any concept designs to avoid copyright issues. Approval from the designer to use concept designs must take place prior to any commencement of the project.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you choose to cancel a project where no work has taken place, the deposit will be refunded. If you choose to cancel a project and work has commenced, the deposit will not be refunded. If you choose to postpone or delay the construction phase of the project but design works have been completed or are near completion, the final invoice will be issued and 100% of the invoice will be due for payment within 14 days of issue. Please do be mindful that if we have accepted the project we may have had to decline others in order to complete yours. Please also be mindful that design can be a long process and cash flow needs to be managed.

CHANGES TO TIMELINE

Any changes to the timeline of a project are subject to the designer’s availability and must be agreed upon in writing by both the client and designer. The designer is not liable should any preferred trades or selections be no longer available due to changes in the agreed timeline. Should there be any reason for the client to put the project “on hold” midway through due to personal or financial issues, this must be disclosed to the designer in writing. Depending on what phase of the project this occurs the designer may issue an invoice for any work that has been completed that the deposit does not cover. If the client becomes unresponsive the designer reserves the right to issue an invoice for the works completed up to that phase of the project. If the project is on hold for more than 3 months, the designer reserves the right to re-quote works to cover price increases.

CHANGES TO BUDGET

Any changes to the budget that affect the outcome of the project must be communicated to the designer as soon as possible. If this affects any selections that have already been made and alternative options are to be presented to align with the new budget, then a variation may be issued to cover the additional time spent. Please note budgets are agreed upon in writing in the style guide and as per the terms and conditions of this document, any changes warrant a variation to be issued.
